RASCAL FLATTS' FIDDLER SINGS THE BARCUS-BERRY BLUES
Charleston, SC, December 2005 - Musicorp, the exclusive manufacturer of Barcus Berry and a leading distributor of music products, accessories and lighting equipment, announced today that John Jeansonne, the current fiddle player for the award winning band, Rascal Flatts, selected the new Barcus-Berry Vibrato-AE™ Series Acoustic-Electric Violin to play at the 2005 American Music Awards (AMA). Jeansonne has been using Barcus-Berry products for over 27 years, when he recently inquired about its new line of acoustic-electric violins, which he demonstrated in the Rascal Flatts AMA live performance televised on November 22.
“I've always been impressed at the quality and sustainability of the Barcus-Berry 1320 violin bridge pickup and have only replaced it once after using it for 13 years on my fiddle,” said John Jeansonne, Rascal Flatts fiddler. “The new Barcus-Berry Vibrato-AE violin has proven equally brilliant and provided impeccable sound quality this year at the AMAs.”
Barcus-Berry, a wholly owned subsidiary of Musicorp, launched the new Vibrato-AE violin in April 2005, offering it in three different colors, Natural, Barcus-Berry Blue and Red Berry Burst. Musicorp provided the Barcus Berry Blue violin for Jeansonne.
“Musicorp is pleased to add John Jeansonne to the long list of artists who use Barcus-Berry music products,” said Catherine Polk, Barcus-Berry product manager. “His talent and professionalism well-represent the line, and we look forward to a mutually successful relationship with him in the future.”
Rascal Flatts has been named Vocal Group of the Year by the Country Music Association (CMA) in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Jeansonne contributed to this achievement since he joined the band in early 2002, bringing over 27 years of expertise in fiddle playing. Prior to Rascal Flatts, he backed country-recording artist Lee Ann Womack and has twice won the Louisiana State Fiddle Championships.
The Barcus-Berry Vibrato-AE Series Acoustic-Electric Violin is fully-carved and graduated of Carpathian Maple and Spruce with Ebony fittings, Super Sensitive® Red Label® strings, four Wittner tuners and a hand-rubbed lacquer finish. The outfitted series sells at list price for $750.00 and comes with a color-matching Glasser® bow, full cake dark rosin and color-coordinated Barcus-Berry embroidered case. Barcus-Berry is manufactured and exclusively distributed by Musicorp and offers pickups and preamps for piano, violin and guitar in addition to its new violin series.
